Arion ater | In millions to summit 3,127 feet
" [[Ditto for: Arion]] subfuscus | at about 2,300 feet
Limax arborum | Up to summit
" [[Ditto for: Limax]] ? | What appeared to be [[underlined]] L. c. niger [[/underlined]] juvenita common up to summit. This may have been the slug I recorded in Proceedings R.I.A XXIX (B) 75. 1911. as [[underlined]] Milax gagates [[/underlined]] but I cannot tell till I examine the animal which I have in spirit. If it is [[underlined]] L. c. niger [[/underlined]] it is strange that all the specimens I saw this day were the same size. [[image - pen sketch of slug with line indicating length]] & that no full grown ones were seen although on the Blaskets I only saw full grown examples of this slug. Could it be [[underlined]] "L. arborum [[/underlined]] var niger" of R. F. Scharff? See I.N. VIII, 214.

[[side note, left margin]] Upon the occasion of my third visit in Sept. 1914 I sent some of these & typical [[underlined]] L. arborum [[/underlined]] to J .W. Jackson & Dr. A. [[G. Bagesth?]]. The latter found no difference in their anatomy & W. D. Roebuck named them var. [[underlined]] supicola [[/underlined]] A.W.S. [[/side note, left margin]]
