Mar 14, 1939 Out to see Dr Merritt - aviary, turtle crawl[[?]], aquarium etc while awaiting Greens return. Green came in while we were eating dinner and we had a trip to Snipe Key to see herons. Saw one nest with a young Wiedemann's & a young Great White in it. Saw comparatively few birds ✓ 1 Brown Pelican (few) ✓ 2 Red-breasted Merganser (10) ✓ 3 Laughing Gull few ✓ 4 Herring " (few questionable) ✓ 5 Royal Tern 50 ✓ 6 Wards Heron (sev) ✓ 7 Great White Heron (50 est) ✓ 8 Yellow crowned Night Heron 20 Saw Dr Merritt & his collection of doves and back to hotel. Called Henderson and found I don't have to go back so we can continue our trip. Mar 15, 1939 Left Key West at 8.00AM and arrive at Miami at noon. Lunch with Don and talked him into going with me to see a Dr. Then back to hotel - had dinner with Don and to bed at 11.00PM Mar 16, 1939.
