Only bees seen were in small snad-pit in field above main road to Glen of the Downs between Kilmacanogue & Kilmurry, almost opposite Grove Ho. [[underlined]] Andrean gwynana [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[female symbol]] (very fresh) on Dandelions [[underlined]] A. minatula [[/underlined]] 1st brood (= [[underlined]] parruda [[/underlined]]) 1 [[male symbol]] on Daisy. [[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] at willows in valley near same place [[checkmark]] NB. A few willows nearly over; but many not out! [[line across page]] Sat. aft. 5th April 1924. Mild, calm, patchy but no real sun till 3 p.m.; thence cloudless. [[underlined]] Andrena apicata [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] on [[male symbol]] willow (S. [[underlined]] cinerea [[/underlined]]) above & opposite Mrs. Doyles, Lower Glenasmole. Co. Du. Also a [[female symbol]] seen nesting on ground on slope to road behind Mrs Doyles' House! [[underlined]] Andrena gwynana [[/underlined]] [[strikethrough]] [[female symbol]] [[/strikethrough]] [[male symbol]], another seen! [[female symbol]] (that looked as if it might have been [[underlined]] A. flavipes [[/underlined]] sunning itself but missed!) Went to Devil's Glen, WI but the only bee seen during the whole day was a [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] [[line across page]] Saturday 12th April 1924 . Heavy snow from 1 p.m. onwards till dark. [[line across page]] Sunday 13th April 1924. Heavy snow from 8 AM till 11 AM. Cleared afterwards & plenty of sun from 12-30 till 4 p.m. (summertime from now onwards!) Saw [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Andrena gwynana [[/underlined]] in sand pit at Greenhills. Took [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Andrena nigroaenea [[/underlined]] and [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] A. gwynana [[/underlined]] by the Dodder above Old Barn bridge; the former on Dandelion; the latter (& another seen) running itself on stone : very fresh. Also a sawfly flying on gorse = "[[underlined]] Pachynemtus clitellatus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]]" R.C.L.P. = [[underlined]] ascauthocarpus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] of [[Enslier?]], [[morice?]] & [[Konow?]]" fide R.C.L.P. Saw fresh [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Bombus muscorum [[/underlined]] on [[underlined]] Ajuga reptans [[/underlined]] & several [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] at Willows. At for of Glenamole near Mrs. Doyle's I saw several [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] also & [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] B. jonellus [[/underlined]] or [[underlined]] hortorum [[/underlined]] No other bees seen, but in the "coomb" above & opposite Mrs Doyle's I found several numerous cocoon of fossors.
