After some early sun & promise of   a fine day the wind turned to the East & it rained heavily all day. Went to Inchquin Lake near Corofin but the only Hymenoptera seen were
[[underlined]] Vespa sylvestris [[/underlined]] 1 [[virgin female symbol]] 
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[virgin female symbol]]

above Inchquin L.
Very nice collecting grounds hereabouts especially for fossors! But no fossors seen in subsequent fine day!

Sunay 6th July 1924.
Rain all night but fine sunny morning till 10, then misty all day with showers turning wet again in evening.
A few Bombus including [[underlined]] B. deschamellus [[/underlined]] [[virgin female symbol]] seen on sandhills at Lahinch but nothing else in the Aculcate line. Two [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Pegomachus [[/underlined]] &  one large [[underlined]] Proctotrapus [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]]
One Ichneumon (Pinipla ? sp?) [[female symbol]] taken on Cow Parsnip in afternoon on hill S.E. of Station, Lahinch.

Tuesday, 8th July 1924. A dull warm day, but without sun.
Morning & [[strikethrough]] early aft. [[/strikethrough]] midday : sandhills at Murrough, S. of Black Head.
[[underlined]] Pompilus plumbeus [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] common & very tame at one place N. of Caher R. 
No other aculcates seen (owning to want of sun?)
Braconid
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum, lucorum, lapidarius. [[/underlined]]

[[underlined]] "Tenthredopsis [[/underlined]] inornata [[male symbol]] var." R.C.L.P. at Poulsallagh.
[[underlined]] Lasius mistus [[/underlined]]? nest very common all over district.
[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum, agrorum, muscorum, lapidarius. [[/underlined]]
