151 Sunday 29th March 1925. A cold, windy day for the greater part sunless, but during the middle part & afternoon there were a few good bursts of sun in the Duncan district Co. Wicklow. Spent morning in Duncan demesne but willows few & not yet out. Very promising ground here for July & Aug. At 2 p.m. went to the quarry [[strikethrough]] at [[/strikethrough]] near Ballyhenry & though the sun had gone in I found several [[2 male symbols]] & 1 [[female symbol]] Andrenae "sunning" themselves on stones. Subsequently when the sun came out I saw [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] apciata [[/underlined]] plentifully & another [[female symbol]] very fresh. Only a few willow, already out at this place. Sun is on quarry tile 3 p.m! [[underlined]] Halictus rubicunds [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] on Bellis 1st seen. [[underlined]] Andrena apicata [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & 2 [[2 female symbol]] R.C.L.P. All very fresh. " [[Ditto for: Andrena]] [[underlined]] praecox [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] R.C.L.P. abnormal 8th vent. segment. Spent afternoon in Glenasmole, but sun was just going when I arrived & wind cold. [[underlined]] Andrena clarkella [[/underlined]]. Very fresh [[2 male symbol]] & [[2 female symbols]] along east bank of river, below slip, 1/4 mile below lower dam! Also saw two [[2 female symbols]] making burrows at top of slip opposite Brady's. [[checkmark]] [[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbol]] several seen (one at Barberry flowers! [[line across page]] Thur. 2nd. April. A windy day with heavy showers of rain, sleet & hail! Sunny interals. Drove to Navan & home in afternoon. Saw no likely bee ground except Royal Canal banks at Clonsilla station, but the Boyne valley at Navan should prove good for certain groups later in year! Willows along Boyne just coming out but ? if one could reach them!
