of Ugarny (wh. Sharkey had with his team when he brought Keeney down) should be returned. Ebierbing had said dogs when he started off for Oo-Kood-lear. "Bill" has two fingers that he froze while up there.
"Nimrod" wished to return with these two parties but felt too feeble to walk the distance. Morgan & Bill intended when they left the side of the Bay where they have been stopping to come to vessel alone but getting to this on (W) side of the Bay where other Innuits were obtained E-tu to accompany them. E-tu harnessed up 3 dogs to a sledge & came over with them. These 3 dogs finely exhibited what three Innuit dogs can do. They drew sledge, the Innuit & the Bundles of bedding of Morgan & Bill. exercised great precaution in their return. They would not ride any of the way - used great exertions to keep themselves from freezing. Kept their feet warm by walking & running their hands by pounding.
Started yesterday Morning X O'Clock. Stopped a short time where E-too joined them last night till Moon was up & then trudged on.
Some days ate seal skins, Walrus hide, reindeer Sinews stinking meat & scraps after trying out the Ook-sook.
After two days fasting Bill received from the hands of one of the Innuits a piece of Rein-deer sinew (weighing perhaps an ounce) for his supper. After chewing on it a while gave up the attempt to eat it - has brought the same home & given it to me. I shall keep it laying it away with label attached among my "Curios"

& "Johny Bull" (Ohimerarchu) was kept at bay by one of my Greenlanders "King-ok". The 2 dogs that wandered away when Sharkey took up Morgan, Bill, Nimrod & Keeney returned the next day after he left & have remained there since. Ugarny have them. King-ok tracked the Ni-noo, raised the alarm & kept it at bay till the hunters came up.
Bill & Morgan have shot 13 partridges & one Rabit since they have been up there. The Innuits severed them a White Man's trick by abstracting most of their bread & tobacco wh. they had in their bags while they were out hunting. Proceeds of their hunt shared with Innuits.

Bill & M were sleeping! Much of the time without any fire on account of no Ook-sook. While up there went sealing with the Innuits to the open water beyond Oo-Kood-lear Island where I went last Winter.
When there men had entered the main Cabin. Capt. B. ordered the Steward to put on & warm the Pemican Soup left yesterday. He cautioned the men to eat sparingly or the effects would be an injury to them.
Constipation has been a great trouble to them. "Bill" was [[underlined]] 'bound up' [[/underlined]] for 7 days at one time - then 15! Morgan not so bad but [[underlined]] badly, [[/underlined]] so of "Nimrod". Morgan took at one time 6 pills wh. Capt. B. had wisely given him but they had little or no effect. They tried to overcome the complaint by eating Ook-sook (oil) but it did not help the matter. Capt. B. says that drinking Sea Water will often give relief to one thus effected.
