is due Dr. Karl Lumboltz, who treated the subject: "Objective Symbolism of the Huichol Indians," and Mr. Frank H. Cushing of Washington, who offered a manuscript interpretative of aboriginal art and industry, under the title: "Tomahawk and Calumet, Shield and Gorget," and Dr. Walter Hoffman, whose extended memoirs embodied a careful study of the Menomini Indians.  The committee also especially commended the work of Alfred P. Mandslay of London, dealing with the archaeology of Central America, but which was not submitted or completely published.
