THE ST. LOUIS MUNICIPAL SCHOOL OF NURSING
The new heritage:

[[caption]] The Honorable A. J. Cervantes and Hospital Commissioner Herbert Domke, M.D., chat with students of the St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing as they display their uniforms to the public for the first time. The Mayor at this time released to the public the name of the merged school. [[/caption]]

As we close the Homer G. Phillips Hospital School of Nursing and work toward a bigger and better tomorrow, I want to thank each of you for assisting me in obtaining some of my goals for the Homer G. Phillips Hospital School of Nursing:

Received National Accreditation from the National League of Nursing.

To secure a qualified faculty.

With the merger of the two City Schools of Nursing new uniforms were adopted (shown in the above picture). The old uniforms of the Homer G. Phillips Hospital School of Nursing which are held with pride, love, and respect, have been sent to a nursing school in Africa. We trust this same uniform will help inspire more young women to become proud, qualified nurses for service to mankind.

With every ending there is always a beginning. Such is the case with the closing of the Homer G. Phillips Hospital School of Nursing's doors. The doors to the St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing have opened.

Minnie Edythe T. Gore, R.N.
Director of Nursing
