(?) major (underlined) I 14
                            March 15, 1960

We tested and recorded M & Hrr, in the usual way, just after lunch today. Little or no change in their behavior.
M uttered many long series of DN2's when completely isolated and when touched on the back with my hand. It also uttered series of DN2's in apparent response to David's voice, when it could not see David. So the causation of its DN2's is still at least partly generalized.
Hrr never uttered any notes when isolated, or as a response to either my voice or David's. When it was first put into the testing box it also remained quite silent when touched on the back. After remaining alone in the box for 1/2 hour, however, it uttered a brief burst of 3 DN1's when touched on the back. A minute or so later, when touched on the back again, it only uttered 1 DN1. Another minute or so later, when touched on the back again, it remained quite silent. So it looks as if these DN1's were due to some sort of SAP which accumulates very slowly and is exhausted very rapidly and/or very easily!!
It was noticeable that when M had uttered many long series of DN2's, when the SAP of the DN2's was "running down," the notes in the series became shorter & shorter. At the same time, the pitch of the notes themselves became lower. Some of their apparently low intensity notes (usually or always the last notes in a series)were definitely "slurred". (I think that this has been true of many last notes flow intensity, brief, series for quite some time - possibly (?)a few days after habiting (?))
