Dear Dr. Torre:

Thank you very much for your letter and for the kind sentiments which you write. I assure you that it was and is a great pleasure to know you and I look forward to seeing you.

Unfortunately, I must leave Paris today and as I have a very full schedule, I may not be able to return to Zurich before leaving for New York, presently set for the 14th July on the S.S. UNITED STATES.

I have therefore given your kind letter to a good friend who hopes to be in Zurich in the next two or three days, and as I would depend on his advice in any event, I have asked him to take the matters of which you write me, and have spoken to me about, up with you and you may discuss everything freely with him as to paintings, sculptures, prices, etc.

However, if he should fail in his plan to be in Zurich within the next three days or so, will you be so kind as to send the photographs, with all details to me at the address I gave you,
c/o United States Lines, 10 Rue Auber, Paris
