[[underlined]] 1907 [[/underlined]]

[[underlined]] Sept. 8 [[/underlined]] Left Redlands at 3:30 and reached Banning about 5 P.M. Sunday and talk over Mohave desert trip with Mr Barker, who has cattle over there.

[[underlined]] Sept. 9. [[/underlined]] Hired team and man with old, wide tired backboard. Got camp supplies and started at 9:30
Reached Whitewater ranch by noon & then crossed Whitewater river and over into Morongo Valley and camped at Chuck Warren's ranch.
Came 28 miles, over hot desert on one of the hottest days of the year they say at the ranches. Probably 110 or 115.
Crossed several good creeks and found a big stream of beautiful clear water in the river, up to the horses bellies.

Struck creosote and full set of desert brush at Cabazon & both kinds of mesquite full of fruit at Whitewater & Warrens ranch. Lower Sonoran all the way except a trace of upper on north slopes of ridges in crossing over into Morongo Valley.

Transcription Notes:
Unsure of [[Barring?]] and [[Cabezan?]]. My best guesses. -@siobhanleachman Changed Badlands to Redlands, the former being a mountain range and Redlands being a town nearby. Banning and Cabazon are the other two. -@raferrante
