have an instinctive understanding of all the materials he is fortunate enough to find. Has he any rituals at all [[?]] to our glorious Hako? I shall never be satisfied till that rite is "poetized" as Professor Alexander put it - but not for a "libretto" -- but with that full reverence it deserves.
By the way, were you not disappointed at Professor Alexander's [[?]] as just treatment of the mythology of our American Indians? I had to review his work - & to [[commend?]] it; but I was much disappointed. I had anticipated in him more the soul [[?]] of [[Brinton?]] -- considering how appreciative he was of Hako. I thought he would be less solicitous of classification & more vitally interpretive.
Do let me know of the chance we have of a visit from you -- if I know in advance I shall always [[underline]]make[[/underline]] the leisure to get some good hours with you, & [[??]] & I would love to have you at the Rectory
With very best regards to Mr. La Flesche [[??]] of my deep admiration for your work & your spirit of reverent "clairvoyance" --
   I am very faithfully yours
