It should be straight. 1/4" 27" TO 30" In years gone by the American Indian spent hours selecting his arrow shafts from straight tree limbs. Straight Arrow suggests you obtain them already, completely and inexpensively, made up at lumber yards. With a knife, slice turkey or chicken tail feathers down the middle like this. Cut a notch in the end of the shaft for the bow string. GLUE STRING GLUE 2" 5" Glue 5" sections of feathers to the shaft like this. 3 feathers are glued to the shaft evenly spaced around it. The lighter colored feather is glued perpendicular to the flat sides of the arrow-head. The other 2 feathers are darker. ARROW-HEAD FLAT SIDE ARROW-HEAD SIDE VIEW INDENTED AREA NOTCH Notch the shaft to fit the arrow head Tie the arrow-head to the shaft using heavy cord EDGE EDGE Straight Arrow suggests that for target practice you carve your arrow-heads out of wood.....
