INDIAN ARMLETS

Select soft leather from discarded shoes, upholstery, leatherette or heavy canvas.

Cut two pieces of material in this shape and to these specified dimensions. With scissors cut a 2-inch fringe on this edge.

This should be 3/4 inch  larger than measurement around the forearm. This should be 3/4 inch larger than the measurement around your wrist.

With an ice pick or similar tool, punch 12 holes like this. 
With scissors cut a 2-inch fringe on this edge.

Cut six rosettes like this from your material

From your material cut six thongs 3/16 inch wide and 8 inches long.

Assemble the parts like this.

Adjust to your arms.

Use semi-thick oil paint to decorate your armlets. 

Pull the thongs through the rosettes and tie simple knots.
