INDIAN ARCHERY TARGET 

PART I

Lay long strands of grass, hay or straw into a 20' to 40' row.

The strands should be at least 12" long, all laid in the same direction and in a dispersed manner like this.

With twine bands bundle the row of strands with the bands 10" apart.

Coiled along bundle of strands into a roll like this.

Enough strands should be used to form a roll 6" in diameter when bundled.

This is called the TARGET ROLL.

The size of your target is determined by the length of your bundle.

While coiling, lash the role together with twine like this.

4 From light canvas or canvas cloth cut a disc with a diameter 6 inches longer than the diameter of your target roll. This is called the TARGET COVER FACE.

5 This is called the TARGET COVER FRAME
Cut a target cover frame 14" wide and long enough to be so interlaced to the face as shown. This will be a long strip, in which case you so sections of your material together to make it.

6 Sewed seam
Turn back 4 inches and sew.
With a hook made from wire past the length of twine through this hem.

7 With strong cord sew or lace frame to the face like this.

8 Slip target cover over target roll. Draw the twine through the hem up tight and tie it like this.
