Outside of Museum time, I have been occupied with the Lobster Industry Report for the Fishery Census. I have deduced the crude field notes of special agents and answers of correspondents to workable shape, and have made much progress with the report itself. In connection with this report I have sent out letters to all seacoast states, requesting copies of the state laws regulating the fisheries especially with reference to the crustaceans and shellfish.

I have also corrected a small amount of proof, of which no account was kept.

The entries in the Record books have been as follows.

Sponges Nos. 697 to 753 inclusive.

Radiates Nos. 4745 to 4976 inclusive.

Crustacea Nos. 3685 to 3807 inclusive.

Worms Nos. 68 to 84 inclusive.

Ascidians & Bryozoa Nos. 1 to 33 inclusive.

The accessions are as follows:

Acc. No 11095. Feby. 2. Gustav Eisen, Fresno, Cal. Valuable collection of earthworms from Europe and California.

Acc. No. 11097. Feby. 2. Prof. J. B. Steere, Ann Arbor, Mich. 66 specimens of shells, representing 33 species from Phillipine Islands, South Pacific Ocean
