Sept. 28, 1962.

Dearest Mom & Uncle,

I hope by this time you have received my second letter as it was mailed last week. I've been real busy the past week. Luckily there was not too much homework last night.

Yesterday, we had our freshmen initiated. We had a lot of fun. The frosh had to carry books, crawl on the floor, bow to the Juniors, and all sorts of things. Classes were shortened because of the entertainment after the initiation. But this initiation wasn't very good as the Juniors treated the frosh real bad - just like slaves.

I'm so glad you had a good time with Helen, etc. Whenever you are free and they are free, you can go out more often.

Thank you very much for the shoes. I just adore that pair. Did you get any of those beige ones? If not & if the sale is still on, would you get me a pair of beige & a pair of black ones? I don't want to buy any shoes here. Later on, would you mail me a pair of black heels from Bah's? I'm not in a need of them yet so you can wait till later. If possible, could you sent me the pair of white heels (the party pair) as soon as possible? There are some dances coming up.

I hope this letter gets to you before the 1st of Oct. Oh, if there is space, please send me some soft coconut candy. 3 or 4 lbs. should be enough.
