(Earlier this day: Peyto Lake - a very unusual blue. A very beautiful panorama of glacier, sill plain, lake, & mts on either side. Took "nature walk" - wildflowers identified with markers. Also saw Bow Lake from the shore - also the same unusual blue.

Mon. Sept 5: The Wenkchemna Peaks of the Bow Range, or the Valley of the Ten Peaks. !!!
Today: moved from Motel Lake Louise to Moraine Lake Lodge & Motel - cabin 9. Went on 6 mi-hike up up up up to Larch Valley - a true Alpine Meadow (but now not in bloom) surrounded by larches, & beyond, by the tops of mts. Over 7000' [[strikethrough]] f [[/strikethrough]] high. Then hiked over the valley & followed its stream (rushing, beautiful, pure, cascading) up toward a rise, then crossed it & went thru woods (up) & finally arrived at a ridgefall. There from east to west rose a wall of such incredible beauty & drama: the 10 peaks! all jagged, vertically incised with clefts & gorges, glaciers & icefalls streaking their canyons. Sketched.

Back to the Lodge (with a huge headache) & dinner of lake trout.
