next visited village of Jono which produces crystaline salt & bleng from groundspring water

in some of the dukoho ground water springs out with bubbling sound (hence name "bleng")-in Jono, however, brought up by bucket from wells

at present time in Jono are 180 KK with total of 390 family workers, no hired labor
much reduced, however, since Dutch times
ground water stored in [[strikethrough]] yaen [[/strikethrough]] covered-oven holding ponds for seven days
then transfered [[transferred]] by bucket to bamboo evap. trays

get a granular crystal salt sold [[margin]] tastes better than sea salt which, they say, is bitter [[/margin]] mainly to shoyu factories - water remaining after crystals from is the bleng - brownish

are 3 kupuk puli makers in Jono at present, producing about 10 K each a day

each producer in Jono has his own langganans & "menjual sendiri ke tungkulak"
was a coop in early 60's but has broken up now

here get another set of figures - 336 units in the village at present, compared with 1346 units in former times
formerly also used hired labor from outside the village - the petanigaram were rich men then, acc. to Pak Lyrah - at that time they rented out their crop fields & lived off salt production
now must till own fields & must also make salt w/out hired labor
