I have the honor to submit the following report of a most thorough investigation of the case of John E Clark v.s. Wm. Page, citizens of Jackson County Miss. concerning the seizure and sale - under color of law - of the Homestead belonging to Wm. Page in satisfaction for amount of judgement rendered against Page by the "Circuit Court" of the 8th Judicial Dist of Miss. rendered April 11th 1866 in suit at law. In the case of John E. Clark v.s. Wm Page brought to recover account of a former judgement rendered against Page in a suit brought by Roderick Seal (Lawyer) to recover amount of a bill of charges for professional services in defending Page in a former case in court in which Page was tried for shooting & killed Joseph Toodles & wounded P. T. Williams who went to Page's house and attacked him with
