Office Sub Dist. Louisville, Louisville, Miss. Feby 5th 1868. Lieut. M. Barber, A.A.A.G. Sir:-I have the honor, to forward the following Report, in compliance with G.O. No. 10. Par. II. series 1867, for the month of January 1868.- Dr Eiland, complained that Martha Triplett, contracted for 1868, with him, but that she left his premises without his knowledge, a white man having offered Martha more than he (Eiland) had. Martha, ordered to report to Dr Eiland, for labor, at once. R.M. White, complained that Jerry Rowland, contracted with him for 1868, but that some white man offered Jerry, more than he had, and caused him to violate contract. Jerry, ordered to report to Mr White, with whom he made contract in good faith, or, subject himself to arrest. Jerry, obeyed orders. Maria, reports that her son Bill, who is a Minor, will not obey her.
