Office of Asst Supt. Freedmen
Greensboro. N.C, Nov 15 1865 

Before me, Asa Teal. capt and Agent- for Freedmen, District Greensboro. State of North Carolina; was arraigned and tried Lucinda and Polly; (colored,) on the following charges to wit: 
Petty; Larceny; 
The charge being read to Defts and they plead as follows;        Guilty;
Evidence for Prosecutions;
Mrs.; Julia Wright; being duly sworn, says that on the 5 day of Nov. 1865. two colored girls named Lucinda and Polly; come to her house in the county of Rockingham, State of North Carolina, and stole Sunday articles to wit; (1) one towel;(1) one Table cloth (3) three sheets; and various articles of under clothing:
        Evidence of 
R. J. French, one of the home guards in the county of Rockingham ; Stet of North Carolina; State that Mrs.; Julia Wright; called on him on the 13th day of Nov. 1865 to search the Premises of Said Lucinda and Polly; (colored) he also states that he went to the house of Lucinda; and made the search; Finding (1) one Towel (1) one Table cloth; (3) three Sheets, and (1) one jar witch Mrs.; Julia Wright; Identified as being her own property; he then went to the house of Polly. Searching her premises, and found nothing; The accused Lucinda and Polly both confessed their Guilt and I then put them under arrest and brought them here to this office for trial:
