Cost of Surface and Proposed Air Travel. The limousine and taxi fares between Washington and National and between Baltimore and Friendship are relatively modest and reflect the distance and time involved in the surface journeys. The Washington-National limousine fare is $1.35 and the Baltimore-Friendship, $1.60. Taxi fares vary by direction but average $3 at Washington and $5 at Baltimore. The helicopter fares proposed range between $3.50 and $5. The Washington-Dulles and Washington-Friendship surface fares are approximately equal, with the limousine charging $2.50 in each case and the taxi fares ranging from $12 to $15. The helicopter proposals show fares from $8.50 to $10 for Dulles and $9.50 to $10 for Friendship. To use National Airport the Baltimore passenger must pay a limousine fare of $5.85 or a taxi fare $25. The proposed helicopter fare is $12. The inter-airport fares follow the same pattern.
