-14- With respect to Washington, the plans are somewhat less indefinite; but by no means are they taking tangible shape. After considerations which spread over a number of years, Congress passed and the President approved Public Law 89-759 providing for a temporary heliport for the District of Columbia. However, a definite site has not yet been selected; and ultimate availability is equally indefinite. Two of the applicants, WBHA and NCA, are considering the possibility of using a recently constructed building at 20th and L Streets, N.W., the structure of which would permit such use and provide at least the minimum necessary area. Some consideration has been given to the use of this building, including discussions with the FAA, but a final decision is not imminent. Airport Access Study. These is being prepared a study of the various means of access being used to travel to and from Friendship. Dulles, and National Airports for the Department of Transportation. It is being made my ABT Associate, Inc., of Cambridge, Massachusetts, under a contract with the Office of High Speed Group Transportation within the Department.
