Sir:-
The bearer Samuel Ramsay complains that your son James will not allow his daughter to come on to the place to assist him in his duties. If this man has a legal right on your place, which I assurance he has, your son has no right to prevent his daughters from living with him, he further states that James struck his daughter, such conduct will not be allowed by this Bureau and if further complaint is made I shall bring him here for trial.
Very respectfully
Agent Bu. R. F. &c.

The Bearer complains that your dog bit him severely without provocation, and that you refuse to shelter him until his wounds are sufficiently healed to admit of his completing his contract with you and further that you refuse to pay him for services already performed, I can see no justice in this: certainly the boy is not to be blamed in this case and humanity requires that you should at least pay him for services rendered if not take care of him until he recovers from the wounds
Very Respy
