[[?]] Record R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Craig County Unit of The National Congress of American Indians being in regular session duly assembled on this the 25th day of September, 1946, at Vinita, Oklahoma; and, WHEREAS, The Congress of the United States of America has created an Indian Claims Commission for the purpose of adjudicating claims between The United States of America and the various Indian Tribes; and WHEREAS, Judge N.B. Johnson of Claremore, Oklahoma, District Judge of the 12th Judicial District of the State of Oklahoma, of Indian descent, a lawyer and well versed in his chosen profession, and a man highly respected by all who know him, has given freely of both his time and resources in helping to bring about the creation of both the National Congress of American Indians and The Indian Claims Commission: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that The Craig County Unit of the National Congress of American Indians recommend, and the said Craig County Unit of the National Congress of American Indians does hereby recommend to the Third Annual Convention of The National Congress of American Indians, duly assembled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on this 9th day of November, 1946, that the name of Judge N.B. Johnson, Claremore, Oklahoma, be put before the President of the United States with the recommendation that he be appointed as a member of the Indian Claims Commission.
