them for $200- to $250-  The bounty was $300- he always took the Certificates to Capt Bourie for his signature; I took mine there to; I dont know where Fowler got his Certificates cashed.  I sold mine to Mr Campbell; I have heard men say they had not received what they were entitled to.  Mr Fowler made it invariably right: in some cases the Relatives of the Volunteer would come and claim the bounty, or whatever they alleged was due, when Fowler paid it; saying he did'nt want any trouble about it:  When Fowler was arrested before, I heard that he paid over various sums to different claimants. I do not know what portion of the money thus made Fowler paid to Bourie, nor have I any knowledge of any arrangement between them
