in the car who gets everybody laughing and besides the drunken man there are lots of interesting characters; so many different kinds of faces. It makes a great study.

I thought coming into Newburgh this morning that if I could only see you I would be absolutely happy. Naughty Girl you don't know what a great void you make in my life when you go away. You are just the kind of girl I have always thought of and always wanted and now that I have you I sometimes feel so contented in spite of the fact that I miss you so much. You know it makes me feel that a very important part of my life has been settled and it gives me a definite plan to work out. Before I met you I often looked ahead; but could see nothing very clearly except a certain ambition to succeed in my work, but you know there are other things just as important as that and happiness in a person's life means almost everything. Is'nt it strange how people are brought together in this world. Who would have said two years ago that you and I would be engaged. It makes me so happy.
