Therefore I wish to have them attended to an as reasonable terms as I can and wish to place them in the hands of responsible and reliable men, that the citizens of my vicinity that remained Loyal during the rebellion may be able to receive the compensation due them from the Government.

Hoping, Gentlemen, that you will do me and the Loyal claimants the kind favor to investigate the matter refered to and let me know by return mail or as soon as convenient.
