Evening. At home, ate twice already (2 small diners one at 730 one now at 11). Drank some too, am afraid of catching cold, today weather got cold suddenly. Read stories of Ring Lardner in volume I bought at 2nd hand bookstore. Warner called, will see him when back from Detroit (going there Wednesday)

Only 2 weeks since you left, seems like much much. longer. Miss you in bed, dreamed you last night, think of you all day.

I feel tired. The book is ready now and the blueprints look good (I should have the proofs of the first part in about 3 weeks) but what I need now is to start a vacation. Instead I have to do the Detroit and a few other jobs including The New Yorker and I'm afraid I'll do bad things if I won't take it easy. If it were not for the parents I'd write you to come home immediately, I wouldn't go to Europe. I'll try to reach you as soon as possible and stay with you. We'll plot the house in the country [and a one year vacation from jobs]

Good night beautiful rabbit
