Dear Jack

Yes, weve not seen one another for too long and it frustrates me. I almost succeeded in what I had hoped would be a long teaching spell in Philadelphia, but their offer came too late to accomplish in time. Spring Garden College in Philadelphia is the oldest technological institute in the U.S. (Edison taught there) has a modest school of architecture. Insular, rich, at peace with itself, essentially without disruption or brilliance.

A new head, who visited our school years ago, is determined to shake it out of its comfortable lethargy and I was apparently selected as one of the new dusters. I was more than willing however my prior professional and academic commitments here make it impossible. They are still "at me" for 1986/87. I have as yet not agreed. While we were away in France this summer we chanced upon Peter Selz from Berkeley who has asked for my C.V. to initiate things there. However Berkeley is as distant from N. York as we are so that doesn't offer a satisfactory alternative. I read of interesting developments at Parsons. The Architectural Record Nov. 1984 contains
