Q - How you came to work on festival? 6. LONG: met RINZLER at Newport FolkFest in 1960s. Long had been a staff member of SNCC. RINZLER introduced Long to ROLAND FREEMAN - 7. FREEMAN: I had been looking for 10 years for someone who had an 8. appreciation for documenting culture. Ralph RINZLER was Freeman's neighbor, in DC. In 1974, RINZLER introduced him to Worth Long. Freeman says his neighborhood was largely gay. He says folks all got along and he was surprised to learn later about anti-gay bias. 9.
