Sir
Representation having been made at this office by William Shambly (freedman) that in the settlement had between yourself and Shambly for services during the year 1867, certain specifications agreed to when the contract was made, have been in part, or in whole disregarded at the settlement, I have to request you to call at this Office at Forest Miss - any time after Thursday the 13th inst - and by appointment meet the said William Shambly at such time and place, for the purpose of settleing with him before this office. Until such settlement you will not be sustained in interfering with his share of the corn crop in any manner, unless it should be shown that he is making movements to put the same out of his hands for dishonest purposes: and then only an injunction can be placed upon such action.
