Crownshaft very prominently developed - Purple - Black - Inflorescences infrafoliacious, 2-4 in number - live fronds 6-8 - more or less horizontal - (see photo) Flowers pink (see pickle) mature fruits black (see pickle) Very common - (crownshaft split [[circled]] 2 [[/circled]] longitudinally into two equal halves which were each cut into three transverse sections for specimens.) Spathes 2 - (only one complete spathe collected cut in three transverse sections, split longitudinally for convenience in pressing.)
