Friday MARCH 10 Temp. 22 Both up early, a gale blowing - Packed truck - a job but finished after hour 1/2. Arthur & Mr. Archer got off at 9.50. I thoroughly cleaned place. Inwardly excited all day - Arthur back at 7.10! Stieglitz liked all the paintings. Started arranging Arthur's in large room, mine in small one. Said of "Feather & Shell," "that's stunning." Said Arthur's were clarified more than 100 times. A, Cary Ross, a nice person helping there, liked mine too & Mrs Norman. We both delighted! Arthur brought "Dualities" by Dorothy Norman - Very beautiful & rare. Also pamphlets, Davidson there & glad about my things, Arthur very cold on trip but a warming result. [[end page]] [[start page]] Saturday MARCH 11 Arthur to Huntington in morning marketing - Both out for ride in Black Maria in afternoon - cold & crisp. Back, met Irene - she & Sandy in - one of those contrasts to all we have been thinking & talking. In Eve. Sun. McBride reviewed shows of Pierre Roy & Picasso with reproductions of each. Arthur of course likes latter - no former. He said; "The combination of literature and painting doesn't amuse me a damn bit, I like Marin." Letter from Paul. An Italian wants to rent, option to buy, tile plant. I wrote to Dorothy Norman for her books.
