[[underlined]] Sept 1, 1932 [[/underlined]] Lv camp at 800 A.M. Found some old Phlox plants. Eriogonums in profusion & a new Penstemon that might be [[underlined]] aridus [[/underlined]] on hills along east Fork of the Salmon. To Cape Horn R.S. at 830 PM 
[[underlined]] Sept 2, 1932. [[/underlined]] About valley creek area Challis N.F. and fished a little. Caught 6 trout but the others were more successful. & we had a trout feed at night. Found a plant with the leaves of a Dodecatheon & flower spikes of a Veronica at Cape Horn R.S.
 Saw [[underlined]] Mallards; Osprey - Many Marsh Hawks, Bittern, B.C. Night Heron - Western swifts & Crossbills. [[/underlined]]
Sept 3, 1932. Lv. Cape Horn R.S. 900 AM arr [[illegible strikethrough]] calls Ida. 815 P.M. Thru Challis & Payette N.F. Visit Arthur Smith Ranger at [[strikethrough]] sept 3, 1932. left McCall [[/strikethrough]] Elk River R.S. and Shorty Hicks - Fire Guard & Trapper at Deadwood. Trapped for game commission last winter in these mountains. also a Mr. Parker, guide & packer who thot the men were too free with summer trapping. said Givens went away & left a lot of traps & that Andy Little's boy poisoned a lot of sheep carcasses & left them killing a lot of Jays & crows. Twitchell says largely true
