Commenced raining at 1.50 Pm - Rained steadily until 4.30 Pm - Now (6. oclock) it is not raining but looks as if it will continue - 

Both Collieries idle - R.R. Co will not run cars until Wednesday - Will run cars Wednesday and Thursday - This will give us about 15 hours each Colliery, for the week - Reading Co. will work 4 days this week - Pennsylvania a little better - 

The miners in the Bituminous coal fields, Pennsylvania, Ohio, are out on strike - Are endeavoring to get the mines in West Virginia out also - This strike may benefit the Anthracite trade - 

Two men working to day - Everything quiet - Am pushing the work of the Compressor and the Fan draft foundations so as to have them completed as soon as possible -
