[[underlined]] Vespa vulgaris [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 virgin female symbols]] abundant at ivy at 1.
[[underlined]] Hemiteles [[/underlined]] - sp. 2 [[2 female symbols]] do. do. [[Dittos for: Hemiteles]] sp 1 [[female symbol]] at ivy at 1.
[[underlined]] Orthocentrus [[strikethrough]] protuberans [[/underlined]] [[/strikethrough]] radialis [[strikethrough]] ? 1 [[male symbol]] [[/strikethrough]] at Salix at top fork of glen at 2.
Larvae (yellow & black) of Nematini abundant on Alder at apex of "peninsula" between tributaries at fork of glen at 2. These very like larvae taken at Meeting of the Waters on 1930 & Glenariff, Co. Antrim, on 28th. July 1931 on hazel. [Three larvae sent to Dr. Perkins who says they are almost certainly [[underlined]] Hemichroa crocea [[/underlined]]!]

21st Oct. 1931. A very cold fine day, with sun in places. E wind. 3.0 till 4.15 pm.
Powerscourt demesne (just below deerpark) Co. WI. 
All taken on (or about) two big oaks in field on top of right bank of river nearly opposite Valclusa gate : mostly beaten but some caught while sun was out.
Small hymenoptera [[underlined]] extraordinarily [[/underlined]] abundant & beating tray often litteraly filled with [[underlined]] Orthocentrus, Stenomacrus [[/underlined]] &  other small species.
