Dear Epie:

Have received your note and I am glad to know that Meredith got something that she liked, and Hardey, also. "Crushed raspberry" must be a terrible color, for probably it looks like blood. But, after all, if that is the color he wanted, I hope you are satisfied.

I well know how very hard Christmas Eve and day were for you and Hardey, but now that you have gone through with it, the other ones will not be so difficult. I got your telephone notice when I came home Christmas day, after having dinner with Dot. Just she, her husband, and myself.

You have me all excited regarding what is coming to me "in a few weeks", and I am glad it is something to eat coming from Oregon. It must be cheese or apples.

Please forgive me for dictating this letter, but two or three weeks ago I had a rather bad fall, and it was going upstairs before dinner, so I had no excuse at all for having slipped. I hurt my left knee quite badly and am not skipping around as quickly as usual.

Much love to you,
