Mixed Diglossini, Sept. 26, 1962, V.

[] Inter []
ils. Find what may be the same flock between 8600 and 8650 ft. Quite large. Includes at least 3 Basileuterus XI, 2 Inters, 1 Goldfinch (Black-capped species), flycatcher(s) , 1 unid wren, the Red Woodpecker, etc.

[] Inter []
When I first find the flock, the 2 Inters are on the edge of the wood (and the flock). Later they move inside the wood.

[] Inter []
The Inters utter 3 types of notes quite frequently "Tsit"s, "Tsut"s, and "Tseet"s. All eventually single, altho frequently repeated.

[] Inter []
The "Tsit"s and "Tsut"s are uttered by the birds while hopping about in trees or shrubbery. Both types of notes are uttered very frequently when the birds are very close to me. When they are somewhat farther away, they still utter lots of "Tsit"s, but relatively few "Tsut"s. At still greater distances, even the "Tsit"s become rare. This would suggest that the "Tsut"s are hostile and at least moderately intense — SHN's in fact — while the "Tsit"s are less strongly hostile — more CN-like.

[] Inter []
The "Tseet"s are uttered by flying birds. Maybe uttered by a flying bird going toward its mate as well as when going away. Must be FCN's or (more probably?) PN's.

[] Inter []
Neither of the Inters utters any recognizable song at any time.

[] Inter []
I think one or both birds may have uttered soft, short (3 note?) Trills occasionally when flying to join mate. These may have been identical with the vocalization uttered when one Inter fed another the day before yesterday.

[] Inter []
One of the Inters may have uttered "Zeezee sreeeeeee" in flight
