Edward William Nelson - Mexico, February 19 - May 2, 1897

About the Project

This latest of Nelson's field journals in Mexico sees him returning to the country after a break back in Washington over the winter of 1894–1895. As preparations get underway for the latest leg of his field work in Mexico, Nelson relates an attack of the "grippe" (flu) he experienced en route from Washington and attributes a bout of weakness and heart troubles to this episode. While we know that Nelson remained healthy enough to continue field work in Mexico for several more years, how did this affect his work in 1895? Join your fellow volunpeers in finding out!
